In addition to the Board of Directors, the Hiteon PTC is run by a network of a Committee Leader who oversee the programs, events, fundraising activities and school volunteering.

- Art Literacy – The program consists of volunteers who go into classrooms to give a visual presentation on an artist which is followed by a hands-on art project with the students. Attend BSD Art Literacy training, set up monthly training sessions for classroom presenters, and maintain art supplies.
- Green Team – Hiteon’s Green Team is a group of 4th and 5th graders passionate about the world we live in, and is volunteer-run by your Hiteon PTC. Volunteers help organize events and meetings for students; hold monthly meetings.
- Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB) Liaison – 3rd – 5th grade students read a selection of books and answer questions based on the books’ content. Assist school organizer setting up classroom teams, take pictures, decorate bulletin board, and coordinate with teachers. Time commitment:
- Science Fair – plan and organize this great enrichment program that involves a fun kick-off assembly, small classroom presentations, sign up forms, and an evening event to view projects. Recruit volunteers to help set up of event, reviewing projects, presentations, decorating bulletin board, displaying signs, and more. Take a peak at previous year’s online science fair.
- Book Fair – correspond with Scholastic Representative, school principals, and school librarian to set up dates; send out notifications to the Hiteon Community 1-2 weeks before event; arrange book displays and merchandise in the Library (need to collaborate with the school librarian and staff, along with volunteers); money handling; pack up remaining books and fixtures for Scholastic pick-up.
- Dining 4 Dollars – coordinate and schedule dates with local restaurants and promote and communicate event to the Hiteon community.
- Fun Run Committee – coordinate our biggest fundraiser of the year. For last year’s Fun Run, please visit the Fun Run 2021 archive.
- Popcorn Fridays – pop and sell popcorn on designated Popcorn Fridays.
- Bulletin Boards – maintain and decorate bulletin boards along the main hallway.
- Communications Committee – volunteers may do any of the following: become Facebook Admin and post announcements to the Facebook page; maintain PTC website and post announcements; and/or assist the Secretary as needed with producing the monthly PTC newsletter, Hawk Squawk.
- DEI Committee – Our goals are to ensure that PTC activities are equitable in their community reach; reevaluate internal and external group communication norms with the goal of reaching more diverse board participation and wider community engagement; provide PTC enrichment programs that will build cultural competence within the Hiteon PTC community; and institute activities to support the ABAR and social justice goals of the school (mutual aid, affinity/ally spaces, parent/community education programming, etc.).
- Hearing & Vision Screening – assist in guiding students from their class to the screening room; lining up and supervising waiting students.
- Laminator – laminates Teacher and Staff projects.
- Library Helper – help the Library Assistant check-in materials re-shelf books, and tidy shelves. Also train the library volunteers, help students find appropriate reading level books, and assist with special projects.
- Lost and Found – help clean up, tag, and manage the Lost and Found cart. Transport unclaimed items to the Beaverton School District Clothes for Kids department.
- Picture Day – recruit volunteers to assist in guiding the student from their class to the photographer, making sure faces and hair are picture picture, and lining up and supervising waiting students.
- School Supplies – work with school supply pack companies; work with community and Hiteon Teachers with school supply orders; distribute and organize supply packs before school year starts.
- Author Visit – seek out authors and organize their visit to Hiteon; work with the Front office to schedule assemblies.
- Bingo Night – organize this annual event; obtain supplies, tables, and seating, and prizes and promote event to Hiteon community. Recruit volunteers to set up and staff an evening of family fun.
- Breakfast Club – plan and organize this annual event. Coordinate with Hiteon Staff and promote event to the Hiteon community. Recruit volunteers to set up and serve breakfast items at this before school student event. Food handlers permit recommended (fee is PTC reimbursable).
- Classroom Parties: Winter (all grades) & End of the Year (for Kindergarten – 4th) – organize classroom parties with help from Hiteon Teachers, Hiteon PTC Classroom Coordinator, and other Hiteon volunteers; may need Food Handlers permit (recommended but not required and fee will be reimbursed by the PTC).
- Clothes for Kids – attend BSD Clothes for Kids orientation and recruit volunteers to staff this valuable district resource for families in our community. Hiteon is assigned on day to fill shifts.
- Cub Scouts Pack 872 -Join the Cub Scouts Pack 872, which has served the youth of Hiteon Elementary and the surrounding area since 1977. Cub Scouts is open to Hiteon students in grades K-5. For more information, contact CS872 Leader or visit the Cubs Scouts website to enroll.
- Family Dance – plan and organize this annual event. Recruit volunteers to help with set up, clean up, check in, or chaperone at our rocking’ DJ’d dance.
- Movie Night – plan and organize this annual event. Choose movie for Hiteon community, coordinate with 5th Grade Fundraising Team, coordinate rentals, set up, and licensing fee.
- Spring Event – New to the 2023-2024 school year. Please email our VP 2 for more information.
- Staff Appreciation Week – plan and organize the Staff Appreciation week (in May), seek out donations (if needed), send out announcements to Hiteon community.
- TRUNK or TREAT – host and decorate your vehicle’s trunk; passing out candy; cleaning up after event; have fun!
- Walk + Roll – work with Beaverton School District’s Safe Routes to School to organize events like Ruby Bridges Day, Walk + Roll to School days, and Walking School Bus days.

- 5th Grade Party – plan and help with send-off party, fundraise, recruit volunteers to set up, staff, and clean up after 5th Grade activities.
- 5th Grade Yearbook – plan and work on the yearbook for documenting all those 5th Grade memories. Recruit volunteers as needed.
